Former Governor to Face Trial Over Missing Students Case

A federal judge ordered former Guerrero governor Ángel Aguirre to stand trial for his role in the 2014 disappearance of 43 Ayotzinapa students. He is accused of destroying surveillance tapes and was sent to a maximum security prison. Forced disappearance means authorities hid what happened to victims. Only 3 of the 43 students' remains have been identified.
