Rayner rejects rent controls months after pledging them

Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary Angela Rayner told BBC Breakfast that rent freezes and rent controls are "not a way forward at the moment." In May, she posted on Facebook that Labour would "take urgent action to protect private renters through rent controls." Rayner said controls tried in parts of the UK had not brought rents down.
