
US imposes 12.5% tariff on all New Zealand exports under forced-labour regime
The US has imposed a 12.5% tariff on all New Zealand exports under a Section 301 regime targeting forced labour, replacing a 10% temporary surcharge. USTR Jamieson Greer said the tariffs combat imports made with forced labour. New Zealand has rejected that its exports involve forced labour, and no public evidence of violations in its supply chains has been presented.
