Dunedin to be last place on Earth to see 2028 total solar eclipse — an event unseen there since 1163

On 22 July 2028, Dunedin, New Zealand, becomes the final point on Earth to experience a total solar eclipse. The last one visible from the city was in 1163, before humans reached New Zealand. Hotels are already sold out two years ahead, and roughly 35,000 visitors are expected in a city of 130,000.
