US and Saudi Arabia Sign Nuclear Cooperation Agreement

On July 22, 2026, Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed a peaceful nuclear cooperation agreement and a bilateral safeguards agreement. The pact enables transfers of nuclear material and technology to Saudi Arabia under Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act.
