FIFA confirms Infantino will seek re-election in March 2027

FIFA has confirmed Gianni Infantino will stand for re-election as president in March 2027 — his first formal reaffirmation since the summer scandal over his plans to sell stakes in FIFA's flagship competitions. Infantino has held the role since 2016. Nominations close 18 November; no challenger has yet been named. The vote is scheduled for 18 March 2027 in Morocco.
