EIA Estimates Global Oil Inventories Fell 1.9 Million Barrels a Day in Q3 2026

The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates global oil inventories fell by an average of 1.9 million barrels per day in the third quarter of 2026. It projects a further 0.7 million barrel-per-day decline in the fourth quarter. A barrel per day measures flow, so the gap was met from stored crude and products. Less stock means less buffer against supply disruptions.
