Guardian Review Finds GOP Attacks on Michigan's El-Sayed Rest on False Loomer Claim

A Guardian review published Oct. 29, 2026, found the Republican campaign against Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed rests on a false claim Laura Loomer, a Trump adviser, first made eight years ago. Loomer said his 2012 Egypt letter endorsed the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group. The review found the letter does not mention the group.
