Rivian Acquires UK AI Startup Third Dimension for 3D World Modelling

Rivian has acquired Third Dimension, a UK startup founded in 2024 that uses AI to turn images and videos into lifelike 3D worlds. Terms were not disclosed. The company's 15-person team, mostly UK-based, will join Rivian's autonomy and AI team led by James Philbin. Rivian plans to use the technology to accelerate driver assistance and robotaxi self-driving development.
