Rivian Acquires Third Dimension for 3D World Modelling

Rivian has acquired Third Dimension, a UK startup founded in 2024 that uses AI to convert images and video into lifelike 3D worlds. Terms were not disclosed. The 15-person team, mostly UK-based, will join Rivian's autonomy and AI group led by James Philbin. Rivian plans to apply the technology to driver assistance and robotaxi self-driving development.
