a16z Renames Crypto Unit a16z Frontier, Adds AI and Robotics

Andreessen Horowitz has renamed its digital asset unit, a16z Crypto, a16z Frontier, the firm announced on October 22, 2026. Led by managing partner Chris Dixon, the unit broadens its remit to AI, robotics and networks connecting humans and machines. The firm says it will keep investing in crypto and advocating for sensible crypto regulation.
