Tesla Says It Has Started Optimus Robot Production at Fremont Factory

Tesla said on October 21, 2026, that it has started production of its Optimus humanoid robot at its Fremont, California factory, a plant that previously built electric vehicles. Its third-quarter shareholder letter calls the bots the first production-quality units the company has built. The announcement came alongside a 43% drop in net income to $787 million.
