Tesla Starts Optimus Humanoid Robot Production at Fremont

Tesla said on October 21, 2026, that it has started producing its Optimus humanoid robot at Fremont, California, a factory that previously built electric vehicles. Its third-quarter shareholder letter calls the units the first production-quality bots the company has built. The announcement came alongside a 43% drop in net income, to $787 million.
