Pope Leo XIV's doctors say no further lung cancer treatment is needed
In a Vatican statement, Pope Leo XIV's doctors said no further treatment is necessary after his lung cancer surgery. The tumor, removed October 13, 2026, was lung adenocarcinoma, a type of lung cancer, and was localized, meaning confined to one area. Final tissue and molecular tests confirmed the cancer was localized. They said "no further therapy is required."
