Cambridge Heavy Industries exits stealth with benchtop fusion reactor and $6.2M seed

Cambridge Heavy Industries has emerged from stealth in Cambridge, Massachusetts, revealing a small modular benchtop laser fusion reactor developed near MIT. Co-founder and CEO Yun Kai said the company recently raised a $6.2 million seed round led by Azolla Ventures, with plans to develop a power plant in about a decade.
