China Approves Alibaba AI Models for Apple Intelligence

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen text models and Tongyi Wanxiang image-video generator for Apple Intelligence in China. Apple Intelligence has remained unavailable in mainland China nearly two years after launch, despite July clearance for Apple to offer the service.
