Peters' office rejects National's 26% foreign aid increase claim

Foreign Minister Winston Peters' office says National's claim foreign aid rose 26% since 2021 is incorrect. A spokesperson said the inflation-adjusted rise was about 10%, from $1.009b in Budget 2020 to $1.111b in Budget 2026. National health spokesperson Simeon Brown told RNZ it stood by the unadjusted 26% figure.
