Alberta to vote on 19 October on holding future separation referendum

CityNews Calgary reported Albertans will vote on 19 October on whether to hold a future, binding referendum on separating from Canada. The Government of Alberta said Premier Danielle Smith announced the question on 21 May. Reuters reported the vote is non-binding. The CBC reported Smith said she will not hold another referendum if voters back remaining in Canada.
