75% of Civil Rights Division attorneys left after Dhillon takeover

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon pushed out hundreds of longtime attorneys after taking over the Civil Rights Division in April 2025, NPR reported Oct. 11, 2026. About 75% of the division's attorneys had left by Dec. 9, 2025, Reuters reported. Dhillon also issued new mission statements for the division's 11 sections.
