U.S. Removes Daughter of Myanmar Tycoon From Sanctions List

The United States removed Theint Win Htet from its sanctions list on Oct. 9. She is the daughter of Thein Win Zaw, whose Shwe Byain Phyu Group was sanctioned in January 2024 after Treasury said it supplied fuel to Myanmar's military. She argued she holds no role in the business. Her lawyer sought dismissal of her lawsuit after the delisting.
