Russia Says No Plague in Irkutsk After Researcher's Death

Russia has told the World Health Organization (WHO) it found no plague cases in Irkutsk after Oct. 2 death of Darya Shipilova, 28, a researcher at the Anti-Plague Institute. Russia's agency Rospotrebnadzor said tests on her contacts found no related germs and checks are done. The WHO says it is monitoring amid questions over how her pneumonia death was judged.
