US Drops Sanctions on Daughter of Myanmar Businessman

The US on Oct. 9 removed Theint Win Htet from its sanctions list, which freezes assets and blocks US dealings. US Treasury says her father Thein Win Zaw's Shwe Byain Phyu Group supplied fuel to Myanmar's military, sanctioned in January 2024. She says she holds no role in the business. Her lawyer asked to dismiss her lawsuit after the delisting.
