FCC defers to Pentagon on TV airing of Hasan execution

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said Oct. 9 he will defer to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on whether TV networks can air the planned Dec. 3 firing-squad execution of convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood. Carr said the livestreamed execution is not planned for broadcast TV, leaving the FCC no role.
