
Virginia county sues to stop 250-foot arch at Memorial Circle
The Arlington County Board in Virginia filed suit on 8 October 2026 against the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington and the National Park Service, the federal parks agency, Reuters reported. It asks the court to halt plans for a proposed 250-foot triumphal arch, a free-standing monument, at Memorial Circle near Washington, D.C., the county said.
