Taylor proposes 100,000 cap on net migration for two years

Angus Taylor has unveiled a Coalition plan to cap net overseas migration at 100,000 in years one and two, then 130,000 and 160,000. He calls it "the largest cut to immigration in Australian history". The starting point undercuts Peter Dutton's 160,000 target and Pauline Hanson's 130,000 bottom line. Big promise; the Budget mechanism will decide if it stacks up.
