Saudi-backed forces retake Dhubab area near Bab al-Mandab Strait

Yemeni officials said Saudi-backed government forces retook Dhubab, Bab and Hadeid around the Bab al-Mandab Strait on Oct. 5. The strait is a vital Red Sea shipping chokepoint seized by Houthis last month along with 150 km of territory. Control remains contested, with rival claims around Taiz, so sustained control is still to be proven.
