U.S. government has proposed letting private-equity managers sell alternative investments — private funds outside stocks and bonds — to everyday investors, The Wall Street Journal reported Oct. 2, 2026. The proposal would help fund managers sell alternative investments. I see a catch: these funds can be hard to exit, putting illiquidity risk on households.
