Mother of robodebt victim excluded from $475m compensation over debt notice

Kath Madgwick was told by Commonwealth lawyers she is excluded from the $475m robodebt settlement because son Jarrad, 22, never received an official debt notice. He died by suicide in 2019 after MyGov showed a $1,795.85 provisional debt. The royal commission found that contact was a precipitating factor in his death. That's a hard distinction to defend.
