Yemeni forces repel Houthi attacks around Taiz in fiercest fighting in years

Yemeni government forces repelled simultaneous Houthi attacks around Taiz on Oct. 2 in what was described as the fiercest fighting in years. Officials said 30 Houthi fighters were killed and 50 wounded. Local reports said fighters retreated in Samea after ground strikes killed or wounded dozens. Taiz may stay the war's main flashpoint.
