European diesel benchmark down about 5% on U.S. stockpile call

European diesel prices fell about 5% on Oct. 2, Reuters reported. Gasoil futures — the market benchmark for diesel and heating oil — dropped after Oct. 1 reports the U.S. asked France and Germany to release 120 million barrels of diesel.
