
Spain's Parliament Rejects First Emergency Housing Decree
Spain's parliament rejected the first of two emergency housing decrees on Oct. 2, 2026, voting down an eviction freeze and proposed tenant protections. The government sought ratification of the package to tackle the housing crisis amid public protests. The Council of Ministers had approved the measures on Sept. 29.
