FDA Approves Expandable Pediatric Heart Valve

The FDA approved Edwards' Autus Size-Adjustable Valve on Oct. 1, the first heart valve expandable after implantation. The surgical pulmonary valve implants at 13 millimeters in young children and dilates via balloon catheter to 22 millimeters, maintaining function as the patient grows.
