Labour promises limits on farm-to-forest conversions

Labour would develop rules to limit full farm-to-forest conversions, agriculture spokesperson Jo Luxton told about 350 farmers at a Mystery Creek debate near Hamilton on Wednesday. She said Labour would order an urgent review of the Emissions Trading Scheme to disincentivise planting pine trees for carbon offsetting, according to RNZ.
