California labor chief gives up share of $272.5M Lyft driver settlement

California Labor Commissioner Lilia García-Brower will give up her office's portion of Lyft's $272.5 million settlement over how drivers were classified, so that money goes to drivers who filed wage claims. The deal covers alleged violations from 2016 to 2020 and still needs a judge's approval.
