Trump seeks to steer $175m in U.S. rights funds to far-right causes

The Trump administration is pushing to direct more than $175m from the State Department's flagship human rights fund to far-right causes. A $1m award titled "Countering lawfare and censorship in Brazil" would fund civil society groups opposing Brazil's Supreme Court over judicial overreach and censorship. Rights aid would thus become leverage over an allied judiciary.
