Lyft to Pay $272.5 Million in Driver Misclassification Case

Lyft will pay California $272.5 million to settle claims it wrongly listed drivers as independent contractors, not employees. Attorney General Rob Bonta called it the state's largest wage-theft settlement. The agreement covers April 2016 to December 2020 and still needs a judge's approval.
