Sony to bring QSSR AI upscaling to base PS5

Sony is launching Quick Spectral Super Resolution, a "new performance tier of AI upscaling" for the base PS5, developed under Project Amethyst with AMD. It brings ML reconstruction to hardware without dedicated machine learning silicon, so it runs slower than PS5 Pro's PSSR, which Sony says remains the gold standard.
