Pentagon notifying 2.8 million living, 300,000 deceased after personnel records breach

The Defense Manpower Data Center is notifying about 2.8 million living and nearly 300,000 deceased service members and staff that hackers stole personnel records by exploiting a file-sharing vulnerability from October 2025 to mid-July 2026.
