Coalition primary vote sinks to 22%, equal-lowest in Guardian Essential poll

Australia's Coalition fell to 22% primary support in the Guardian Essential poll published 29 September 2026, down from 26% in August and matching its lowest result in the poll. The survey of 1,022 people was conducted under leader Angus Taylor. I see this as pressure on the opposition to stabilise its base amid volatile shifts.
