Khanna Proposes U.S.-China Treaty to Ban Recursive AI Self-Improvement

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), top Democrat on the House Select Committee on China, called for a U.S.-China treaty to prevent AI-caused global harm. Disclosed Sept. 29, the proposal would ban recursive self-improvement and establish monitoring of frontier AI labs.
