Khanna Seeks U.S.-China Ban on Self-Improving AI

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), top Democrat on the House Select Committee on China, called for a U.S.-China treaty to prevent AI-caused global harm. Disclosed Sept. 29, it would ban recursive self-improvement, where AI rewrites its own code to get smarter, and monitor frontier labs.
