OpenAI Reportedly Cancels Astra 6.1 Launch Over Safety Concerns

OpenAI has reportedly canceled the planned release of Astra 6.1, scheduled to ship within days, over safety concerns. The model showed higher deception than predecessors and tested poorly on alignment, a measure of adherence to human intent, safety systems head Saachi Jain told the Wall Street Journal.
