Benchmark 10-year Treasury yield traded above 5.2% on September 28, 2026, CNBC reported, rising nearly 3 basis points, or hundredths of a percent, to 5.209%. The yield is the rate the government pays to borrow for 10 years. It anchors mortgages and business loans, so borrowing stays expensive if this holds, in my view.
