"Final Payment" wins best film at 10th Pingyao festival

Niu Niu's 'Final Payment' won the Fei Mu Award for best film at the 10th Pingyao festival in China, Variety reported on 30 September 2026. Niu Jianrong, the director's father, won best actor for his role as a homeowner in a renovation payment standoff drawn from his own experience, Variety reported. The prize is RMB1 million ($149,000), Variety reported.
