Google to end ChromeOS updates and patches in mid-2034

Google will issue ChromeOS updates and security patches until mid-2034, then end support as it shifts to Android-based Googlebook OS. The cutoff shortens the 10-year support window for some devices. Google says many newest Chromebooks will have direct migration paths, with transition support for qualifying hardware whose lifecycle extends beyond 2034.
