UN General Assembly to mark 25 years of Durban anti-racism declaration

The UN General Assembly will hold a high-level meeting on 28 September 2026 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, adopted in 2001 in Durban, South Africa. A concise political declaration is expected to be adopted. The 153-page text on racism is not legally binding. Wording will show whether consensus holds.
