UN to Mark 25 Years Since Durban Anti-Racism Pact

On 28 September 2026, the UN General Assembly will hold a high-level meeting to mark 25 years since the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, the 153-page anti-racism plan adopted in 2001 in Durban, South Africa. A short political declaration — a statement of intent, not legally binding — is expected. Its wording will reveal if consensus holds.
