Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and Namibia Demand Permanent African Seats With Veto on U.N. Security Council

Presidents of Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and Namibia demanded permanent African seats with veto powers on the U.N. Security Council at the 81st General Assembly in September 2026. They criticized Africa's lack of permanent representation. Secretary-General António Guterres has called that absence "indefensible."
