Trump Gives Xi Rare Tarmac Welcome to Open State Visit

Donald Trump welcomed Xi Jinping on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews on the evening of Sept. 23, 2026, opening a two-day state visit. The planeside greeting was rare. It was their second meeting that year, after Trump's visit to China.
