Yemeni government claims recapture of two heights in Taiz to reverse Houthi gains

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces claimed September 22, 2026 to have seized Mount Qarafan in southern Taiz and Mount Zalat near Kahboub. The military says five Houthi fighters were killed and 20 injured at Qarafan. The push seeks to reverse Houthi gains along the Red Sea coast earlier in September.
